Tuesday, 19 September 2006 This is a very ‘moody” usk or dawn watercolor with good use of the media to create the misty feel of Japan - especially in the rose colored sky. It is painted by the Japanese artist Takeuchi Keishu who was born in 1861 and died in 1943, and is signed Keishu in the lower left hand corner (see photo). Labeled on back JOHN WANAMAKER New York, Philadelphia, Paris, London Fine Art Pictures and Framing. Not sure if they sold it or framed it. CONDITION As shown. Very Good condition, The eyelet on back holding the hanging wire has come off. Framed SIZE 7 1/4 x 12 1/2”
