Triptych: Passtimes for Noble Bijin: The Art of Cookery Artist: Kokunimasa Format: Oban triptych: 14" x 27.5" overall Subject: Against a yellow ground Ladies of Noble birth learning the art of cooking; their teacher fanning the embers with a large feather. Date: c. 1880's Condition: Slightly trimmed. Album backing paper. Left and centre sheet united. Vertical foldmark. Some light offsetting and soils. Minor marks and flaws. Generally very good state. Colour: Fine colors. Impression: Fine impressions with gauffrage, burnishing and metallic pigments.
