Saturday, 17 June 2006 1920's Pencil Signed "Shoda Koho" Woodblock "Morning Mist" Koho SHODA - 1875-1925? Information about this Shin Hanga artist is very much in the darkness, beginning with the dates. Helen Merritt lists an artist known as Shoda Koho with the dates 1875-1925. Amy Riegle Stephens lists him in "New Wave" with 1871-1946. Apparently the same artist is meant. I'm personally leaning towards what Helen Merritt has to say. Koho Shoda published with Nishinomiya Yosaku who was associated with Takejiro Hasegawa (1853-1936). Anyone with information on this artist or print please feel free to share your knowledge.
