Catalog note / 解説

Tamami Shima is considered one of the Sosaku hanga masters. This print is from 1961 - a great era for modern Japanese woodblocks, and this one is no exception. It fits right into any Eames era setting. It measures 9 3/4” x 15” image and 11 1/2” x 17” sheet. It is in excellent condition except for light matburn in the margins, a tiny amount of scuffing or loss in the upper margin and some tape residue on the reverse in the upper margin. The colors are very strong, better than my photos. The image is crisp. There is no fading, holes, tears or trimming.
