"Kinglake - The Victorian Bushfires". Kinglake National Park is popular and the closest national park to Melbourne. The small town of Kinglake was one of the severely affected towns in the 2009 Victorian bushfires, with at least 42 people confirmed dead and more than 500 homes destroyed.
