Catalog note / 解説

From a folio, "Akita Fuzoku; Haru no Hanga-shu, Dai-1" (Customs and Manners of Akita Prefecture; Prints in Spring, Vol.1). "Higanbana" Tokushi was famous for the warm depictions of his home, the country side of Akita prefecture in northern Japan. In this picture, children are decorating the roof with "Shobu" (iris) on the Children's Day (May 5th).
