Monday, 3 December 2007 This rare and very early original watercolor by Japanese artist S. Tosuke (Tosuki) is in VERY GOOD condition! Tosuke's watercolor works are known to go back as far as 1922. This particular painting was purchased in Japan around 1923/24. The family provenance can date this piece to that time period because it belonged to a gentleman who traveled to Japan around 1923 for the purpose of visiting/vacationing there for pleasure before reaching his final destination which was Shanghai China where he set up a Dentistry practice and lived until approximately 1939.
