Wednesday, 2 November 2005 Shin Hanga: Girl with Pet Rabbit Artist: Keigetsu Kikuchi Format: Dai oban tate-e: 18.5" x 14" approx Subject: A double sized portrait of a young girl playing with her white pet rabbit. A scarce and charming design by the artist Keigetsu Kikuchi 1879-1955, who was born in Nagano prefecture with the given name Kikuchi Kanji. He traveled in Europe during the twenties with two of his art colleagues. Back in Japan he became a teacher of Japanese print art at the Kyoto City School of Fine Arts and Crafts and at the Kyoto City School of Painting.
