Woodblock print, oban yoko-e. Minamoto no Yoshinaka attempting to escape across a frozen bog, which breaks up beneath him, after the battle of Awazu-gahara; the fatal arrow is already on its way. His retainer Kanehira fights off pursuers in the background.
