Sunday, 11 July 2010 JAPANESE WATERCOLOR WESTERN STYLE SIGNED H. YOSHIMOTO 1920'S Rough Blue Duds is pleased to offer this Japanese watercolor--a rural scene with a stream in the foreground, which leads the eye back to a group of buildings on the left. There is a flowering tree beside the building and more buildings and a hill in the background. The watercolor is signed H. Yoshimoto. He was a member of the school of Western style artists that was active in Japan in the 1920’s. The painting measures approx. 12 by 9 inches, and it was executed on a piece of wove paper.
