from a small, attached typewritten tag attached to the back of this work appears the title-- moonlight view of mt. fuji as seen from shidsuoka at the tokaido highway. this work also displays "hand painted vantine's n.y." impressed on the back at lower left, and shows numbers 15553/17086. this work has been examined by two cognizant individuals (one of which served apprenticeship at the m.o.m.a.) and deemed a true watercolor. the work is 4"wide x 11" tall. another set of numbers appears on the back, possibly indicating it has been sold twice. the backing was quite old, and the glass quite rippled and uneven. we had the painting de-acidified and remounted in the apparently original wood frame…
