Catalog note / 解説

Hand painted on a fine layer of silk. Frame size 62cm x 84cm. Hoshino Gashu was born in Saitama-Ken in 1932. Gashu's style is similar to that of the bijin-ga masters Kiyokata and Shinsui, in that his bijin subjects express a purity and refreshing eloquence typical of those by the early Showa-Era bijin-ga masters. This item is from my personal collection and is not for sale.
