Catalog note / 解説

Print shows (top half) Kogō no Tsubone, the emperor's mistress, lying on the floor, playing a biwa while a man on horseback, Nakakuni, a messenger for the emperor, in the background is watching through the open doorway; (bottom half) shows Tomoe Gozen, a female samurai, and another warrior, possibly Yoshinaka, on horseback.
