Catalog note / 解説

Kabuki actor, Bando Hikosaburo is preparing for his performance. He is putting rouge on his lips in front of a mirror. His long haired wig is draped on the background. Crepe print is a mechanically wrinkled print sold as a "curiosity" item. It was often used for children's books, also, because it was more resistant to tears and soil.
