In this unusual print, the Kabuki actor Nakamura Fukusuke I appears in normal dress (in the circle at the upper left), as he looks in apparent surprise at himself in the role of the spirit of a Mandarin duck (at the lower right). (from Daring Moves Exhibition, 8/1/06-)
