"Meisho Edo Hyakkei; Meguro Chiyogaike" (One Hundred Famous Views of Edo). Chiyogaike Pond in Meguro. Very rare to see the high quality, first edition printing of this popular series. Fresh subtle colors and intricate "bokashi" were the key aesthetic elements of Hiroshige designs which could not have been duplicated by the later impressions. This consignment was originated from Sairaku-do in Ueno, one of the oldest and renowned Ukiyo-e dealers in Japan.
