"Mitate Sanyu-shi" The leader of Satsuma Rebellion, Saigo Takamori (middle: played by Ichikawa Danjuro) his two generals, Shinohara Kunimoto (left: Ichikawa Sadanji), and Kirino Toshiaki (right: Onoe Kikugoro). The popular movie featuring Tom Cruise, "The Last Samurai", was loosely based on Saigo's heroic battle against the Meiji government army.
