Catalog note / 解説

Two rivals in Yoshiwara pleasure quarter, Nagoya Sanzaburo (Left: played by Kataoka Gado) and Fuwa Banzaemon (Right: Nakamura Shikan). Nakai (Nakamura Fukusuke) is in between. The generously applied mica on the dark background looks like reflecting the light from the street lanterns.
