Woodblock print, oban tate-e. Carpenter's wife with a large adze over her shoulder and farmer's wife smoking a pipe and nursing her baby. Middle sheet of a triptych depicting women representing the four classes of society: shi (warriors), ko (craftsmen), no (farmers), and sho (merchants).
