Woodblock print, oban yoko-e. Scene from the production of Kaidan Sumidagawa at the Ichimura theater in the sixth month of Kaei 1 (1848), showing the actors Fujikawa Kayu as O-Kumi of Eiraku-ya, Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as Yoshida Gunsuke, and Ichikawa Kodanji IV as Hokai-bo struggling with Nakayama Bungoro as the clerk Chokuro.
