Catalog note / 解説

In 1118, the troop led by Tosabo Masatoshi attacked the villa at Horikawa in Kyoto where Yoshitsune and his consorts were staying. Tosabo was sent by Minamoto Yoritomo to kill Yoshitsune but his troop was overpowered by Yoshitsune's group. Here, Tosabo was captured and dragged by Benkei to Yoshitsune (sitting on the right) and Shizuka-gozen in full armor.
