The Moon Through a Crumbling Window # 30

Catalog note / 解説

"Tsuki Hyakushi; Haso no Tsuki" (One Hundred Aspects of the Moon; The Moon through a Crumbling Window) Bodhidharma (Jp. Daruma) sat for meditation for nine years. During that time, the walls around him crumbled and the nature took over the ruins. He introduced Chan (Jp. Zen) Buddhism to China. The moon (circle) also represents emptiness, the central quality of enlightenment.
