Catalog note / 解説

In 1878 Yoshitoshi executed two notorious series of seven prints, each devoted to portraits of the concubines of the emperor -- gon no tenji. This is a particularly blatant print with the prominant symbol of the rising sun. Could be paired with Item 5598.
