Catalog note / 解説

From the series, "Kokon Tokyo Meisho" (The Famous Places of Tokyo; The Past and The Present). Front entrance of Nippo-Sha Publishing company in Nihonbashi. The Western style brick buildings and horse-drawn carriage as well as the old style rickshaws showcased the juxtaposition of the new and old; prosperous city life in the Meiji era.
