Saturday, 5 November 2005 The title of this print is Moon over Isura (Izura no tsuki) and the date of publication is 1952. It was published by Watanabe and has a 6 mm red Watanabe seal. The 6 mm seal indicates that the piece was printed before Hasui death in 1957. This is thus an original edition (Original Watanabe prints published after the war and before 1957 have a 6 mm seal red or black seal.) You should be aware that of the Hasui prints sold on ebay very, very few are original edition prints. Izura is in Ibaraki prefecture, which is about 1 1/2 hours by train north of Tokyo.
