Original Toshikata (1866 - 1908) Japanese Woodblock Print Gathering Mushrooms: Women of the Shotoku Era (1711 - 16) Series; Thirty-six Selected Beauties, 1891 - 1894 (Sanjuroku Kasen) Gathering Mushrooms: Women of the Shotoku Era (1711 - 16) - Toshikata's lovely series "Thirty-six Selected Beauties" was one of the great masterwork series of the late 19th century. Reflecting back on the classic beauty prints of the previous era, Toshikata created a series of 36 prints illustrating the daily activities of women from various time periods and walks of life.
