"Kyori no Bijin" ("Beauty in Home Village") from Bungei Kurabu Vol.6, No.6. This is a frontispiece illustration from the popular literary magazine, Bungei Kurabu, which was aimed at largely female readers in Meiji - Taisho era. Here, a beauty is checking her hairdo in a mirror. She is not aware of being watched by a red demon.
