Frontispiece illustration for the novel "Toka no Eibai" on Bungei Kurabu magazine, vol.10, no.3. Bungei Kurabu was a very popular literary magazine in Meiji era. This one depicts a beauty reading a poem under a lantern which is hanging from a plum tree.
