Kasamatsu Shiro- Echigo Kashiwazaki, Niigata- 1.jpg is: Japanese Woodblock by Kasamatsu ‘Echigo Kashiwazaki’ (1954) A bold snow/bridge scene titled in Japanese kanji (left margin) as “Echigo Kashiwazaki” which translates in English the same as print’s location of “Echigo Kashiwazaki” by Shiro Kasamatsu (1898-1991). Bears artist’s signature/seal in lower left corner of image. Print bears Unsodo’s Publisher’s rectangular seal in left margin along with the carver/printer seals of Nagashima/Shinmi. Print itself is undated, however Dr. Andreas Grund's comprehensive reference lists print as first produced in “Showa 29” (or 1954).
