Tuesday, 5 April 2005 TAKAGI SHIRO JAPANESE WOODBLK 1970 BIRDS TREE MODERNIST This is a wonderful color woodblock print by the Japanese artist Takagi Shiro, b. 1934. It is a modernist image of two birds with a nest in a tree. It is signed in pencil lower right. Numbered lower left 11/100 and dated 1970. There is something else in pencil after the numbers and before the date but I cannot read it. Overall size is approximately 16-1/2" x 11". Image is approximately 15" x 9-1/2". I am selling this print in AS IS condition. It seems a bit dirty and there is a sleight bend in the paper upper right. Also, the paper seems to fold along the bottom under the signature.
