Saturday, 13 August 2005 An original unframed Japanese colour woodcut by Koitsu. This depicts a small bird (I think it's a warbler) on a branch with blossom. I have dated it to post 1940 to be safe, but it may well be slightly earlier. Condition is problematic. The print has been laid down onto a backing card with double sided tape in the margins. There also seems to be the residue of some previous tape intruding into the image about half an inch in the left, right and lower edges. (I think this should all be clear from my photos.)
